Biography

Born on the rough streets of a slum deep in the United Kingdom, Robert struggled for years to survive. He became part of a notorious gang at a young age, doing simple jobs such as running drugs from various locations. As he got older he became more and more involved in the violent activities the gang was famous for. However after an attempt to kill a high profile politician went wrong, he knew it was time to get out and signed up to the Alliance Military.

His years of avoiding the police as a drug runner gave him high level evasion skills that were quickly picked up on by his officers. This, combined with above average skills with ranged weapons led to him being put forward for the special forces program. As the years rolled by his rank increased and he eventually reached the honoured rank of N7.

Since reaching this rank he has taken part in many dangerous missions, most of which involved assassinating gang leaders and even alien delegates. However, these would all be denied by Roberts superiors. He has no long term relationship at present and race is of no consequence to him.

Equipment

Armaments:

Dual Mass Accelerator Cannon

-Information: A mass accelerator propels a solid metal slug using precisely-controlled electromagnetic attraction and repulsion. The slug is designed to squash or shatter on impact, increasing the energy it transfers to the target. If this were not the case, it would simply punch a hole right through, doing minimal damage. The cannons are often the spine of ships and as such can only be fired in a direct line to where the ship is facing. The Rorkes drift features an experimental dual barrelled cannon.

KMM Pods

-Information: The KMM (Kinetic Multi Missile) is a prototype missile designed to overwhelm enemy defences with multiple targets. Fired as one, large missile it breaks up during flight into two dozen smaller missiles. It's speed is sufficiently slow enough that it can ignore kinetic barriers. Each warhead is designed for maximum piercing, the aim to breach the air tight containment of a ship, causing heavy casualties to crew rather than damage to a ships internal working.

GARDIAN System

-Information: Standing for General ARea Defense Integration Anti-spacecraft Network, the GARDIAN system is an array of lasers across a ships hull that protect against enemy fighters and missiles, disabling them before they can impact the ship.

Defenses:

GBT Armour

-Information: The armour is an advanced form of the ablative armour on most current Alliance ships. The armour is a composite of many materials, most of which are hard and heat resistant. This makes the armour highly effective against laser and other heat based weapons. A rumour amongst the Alliance is that when testing a plate of GBT armour, it took up to ten direct hits from disruptor torpedoes to destroy it. This resistance to most fighters primary weapons could be invaluable. However, it is unconfirmed if this was actually the case.

Kinetic Barrier Array

-Information: Designed to stop all fast incoming projectiles, the Kintetic barrier struggles against slower projectiles such as torpedos but this slack is often picked up by the GARDIAN system. The barriers are formed by tiny emitters producing repulsive mass effect fields. The "shields" as they are often called as useless against energy based weapons such as lasers.

Background

The Rorkes Drift was created at the same time as the SSV Normandy. The purpose of the Normandy class Frigate was for lighter reconnaissance roles where as the Rorkes Drift class Frigate was created as a heavier variant. It had heavier armour and more powerful weapons but it lacked the IES (Internal Emission Sink) of the Normandy which provided it with its stealth capability. While less maneuverable than the Normandy, the Rorkes prototype armour is only slightly out performed by most cruisers. In a straight up fight with most cruisers it has an outside chance of success, dependent on enemy crew capability. However, it can be easily overwhelmed by fighters.

It was commissioned in 2183 to Captain Donald Murphy to replace the SSV Leipzig. It has not seen any action as yet, narrowly missing the assault on the Citadel.

I can see how lol. Violence towards a human and a mouldy potato are GLadoS trademarks.

I'll be honest I enjoyed Portal and Portal 2 even more, which shocked me a bit. It's basically a casual game and they are not my often thing, but the GLadoS is my heroine!
